Bayside Video Production Report

We just wrapped 3 projects for Boy Scouts of America’s national office in Dallas.  Our videos played at the opening banquet/reception at the huge 2013 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia this week.  They’ve been an awesome client and we hope to have more opportunities to work with them in the future.

The projects were especially rewarding from a story-telling standpoint because we had the opportunity to interview some very impressive business leaders about the importance of leadership training for youth.  Leadership training is a cornerstone of BSA and as the mom of a 10 year old boy, I know how critical this will be to the future success of our nation.

We also had the opportunity to meet some local Scouts, shooting kids from troops in the East Bay and Marin for a special thank you video.  Many thanks to them for helping us out.

Steve also had a blast shooting helicopter footage at their new facility, The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.  Its an amazing 10,000 acres of pristine wilderness and opportunity for high adventure — rock climbing, white water rafting, ziplines, skateboardparks and BMX trails.  Incredible!

When we produce event videos like these, we know how important it is to tailor the content for the audience.  We worked with BSA to understand the settings and audience for each video so that we could produce the most effective video for that audience.   For example, one video was to be played in a smaller, more intimate setting with a very reverent tone. The other was to be played in a huge banquet hall to a larger, celebratory crowd. Naturally, we worked hard to craft the right pacing, music, narration and motion graphics for each setting.

We’ll share the videos soon on our work page so please stay tuned.  They turned out great!
